Mutua Mahiaini Commissioned as International President

Mutua Mahiaini, of Kenya, officially became the fifth International President of The Navigators during a formal commissioning service at Glen Eyrie Conference Center in Colorado Springs. About 15 Navigator leaders, including former International Presidents Mike Treneer and Jerry White, gathered around Mutua and his wife, Stephanie, to pray for them as they assume leadership for the Navigator Worldwide Partnership.

In his acceptance message, Mutua spoke about his faith that God will continue using Navigators in 100 nations to advance the gospel among the lost. He called on Navigators to continue trusting God to fulfill His promises in the midst of a complex, violent and broken world.

Attending the commissioning service were Mutua's mother and father, his four adult children, and numerous other relatives.

Mutua formerly served as a member of the International Executive Team, as Regional Director for Africa, and as a missionary in Kenya and the Ivory Coast. With Mutua's commissioning, previous International President Mike Treneer steps down after a 10-year term. . He and his wife, Chris, plan to continue supporting Navigator leaders around the world.
