Nepal Quake Update 2

Navigators in Nepal continue to report that many Nepalese, especially those who are poor condition, have been severely affected by the 7.8 earthquake that hit the region on April 25. Although affected, no one among our Navigator teams have been hurt or killed, for which we are thankful.
Navigators have been bringing assistance to people around them. One person has recently been in the towns of Pinam and Gorkha. He reports that both areas look like "war zones." The team there is collecting money, taking the funds to Shindupalchowk, the most victimized area. Please pray for safety as looting and theft is common at the moment.
Specific prayer requests from the Navigator team include:
  • Please pray for recovery of the victims: physically, mentally and spiritually.
  • Pray that God would minimize the spread of diseases disease, and enable relief services to gain access with food, water and medications.
  • Pray that God would enable Navigators to become a source of blessing for the count.
Financial assistance continues to be needed. The International Executive Team has set up a fund to provide immediate assistance for our team in Nepal. The name of the fund is the “Nepal Assistance Fund.” If you are interested in making a contribution to this ministry fund, there are two ways to do this:

1. If you live outside the U.S or Canada, please make donations through your regional office. The fund’s NavID number is 24000876.

2. If you live within the U.S. or Canada, you can make an online donation at this link:

As we do not provide disaster relief work, these contributions will only be used to provide immediate, basic assistance for our teams, and to enable them to respond to this crisis in ways that advance the Gospel.
