A free NavPress study titled Responding Biblically to Poverty, Corruption, and Injustice, written by a team of international Navigator leaders, “examines our longing for justice and a life unmarred by destitution.” It also “explores what God says about living out his righteousness” in response to one of the most pressing problems of our times.
(July 2020, Issue 107) About 300 irate villagers in a remote area of an Asia-Pacific country gathered outside the home of a Navigator worker, forced him and his family out of the house and booted them out of the village. Then the mob nabbed two more Navigator workers and took them to jail, where they have remained for three years. Supporting one another during severe hardship is just one reason why teamwork is vital to fulfilling our calling.
(July 2020, Issue 107) "Prejudice and violence against foreigners, who were seen as virus carriers, had been increasing in our region. Hearing about this, our landlord exclaimed, 'If anyone messes with you, call me right away! Day or night I'll be here to protect you.' A nearby food market owner told us, 'If you run out of money, don't worry. My whole shop is yours.'"
(July 2020, Issue 107) During the coronavirus pandemic, many international Navigators are serving in physical ways, often putting themselves at great risk. These tangible, sacrificial expressions of God’s love are having a powerful impact on the hearts and minds of non-believers. We lament that we can’t publish every beautiful example.
